Awesome Extended Day Learning Programs

Harlem Children Zone is our primary partner. They provide after-school programs and summer programs for students in grades K-5. Programs include homework help, chess, dance, music, and other fun activities.

  • Mentoring is a program for 4th grade boys. They spend 2 days a week at FDA II with their Middle School students, and they are working on a genealogy project.

  • America Reads and Counts is a homework tutoring program.

  • Literary Magazine is a program where the students write poems, short stories and comics. They published a magazine for the 1st half of the year, and I'll see if I can get you a digital copy.

  • Debate Club is where students can learn about Debate.

  • Students in Dance Club are learning about different styles of dance, like Afro-Cuban, Salsa, Bachata and Merengue.

  • Sprout Scouts is a new club we are starting this spring and the students will learn about gardening, how food grows, and make small meals from the vegetables in our garden.
